Rube Goldberg was a prolific cartoonist of Ginger’s Era, most famous for drawing ridiculously convoluted contraptions. He was a founding member and the first president of the National Cartoonists Society, and the group’s annual award for best cartoonist of the year is named the Ruben in his honor.

this is off topic a man just posted, very seriously mind you, that he didn’t know that the US traded goods with Britain in the 19th century and I wanted to pound my head against something.
Looks like someone’s a little salty about Thomas Edison being forced out as the head of General Electric and the world switching from DC to AC (though that was mainly due to George Westinghouse.) I’m guessing there’s a plot to take over electricity production and distribution.
